High speed broadband is not available in the whole of the United Kingdom as of yet.It was introduced in the year 2008 and is becoming more widespread throughout 2009 with many companies announcing large rollout costing large amounts of money throughout the United Kingdom.

It is believed that Swindon is to become the U.K's first free Wi-Fi town.
