A debit card is a plastic card which allows you to make electronic purchases. The funds are taken directly from your bank account's remaining balance. Usually your bank account will only allow you to withdraw your own cash which has been deposited previously.

A credit card is very similar to a debit card however the funds are taken from a credit account which you agree with your lender. These funds are loaned to you at interest by a credit lender or provider.
